When I grow up I wanna be a Youtuber
“When I grow up I wanna be a Youtuber”
Not too long ago, in a galaxy pretty close…
kids grew up wanting to be movie stars, astronauts or hockey players.
The underlying assumption to these dreams was that it would require at least a decent bit of dedication and commitment.
It was assumed that the rise to the top was not going to be easy…
My son mentioned the other day that he wants a ‘career’ as a YouTuber.
Mostly he explained because he wouldn’t have to do much, he could stay at home and still make money for doing very little .
He does not yet fully comprehend how very little money is earned for doing very little .
A recent article in Bloomberg.com explains:
“New research out of Germany billed as among the first to review the chances of making it in the new Hollywood shows a vanishingly small number will ever break through—just like in the old Hollywood.
In fact, 96.5 percent of all of those trying to become YouTubers won’t make enough money off of advertising to crack the U.S. poverty line, according to research by Mathias Bärtl, a professor at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences in Offenburg.”
So what does this have to do with your business ?
It reaffirms that for most everyone else, we still must rely on hard work, patience, persistence, sacrifice and commitment to build a successful enterprise .
